This is a new venture and it's going to take a little while to get going. To help the forum get busy, please post here to say hello, tell us what you're studying, how it's going and how you're finding studying in lockdown.

One of the best ways to keep yourself sane during lockdown is to read. If you're a student of English then you'll have to do this anyway, but I'm interested in what you are reading beyond your set texts. What sort of thing do you enjoy and why? My reading list is currently quite heavy: I'm working my way through Obama's memoirs but also reading the controversial Holocaust classic "Hitler's Willing Executioners" as I support a few students with their study of Nazi Germany. I've also got Moby Dick on the go but that has fallen by the wayside in recent weeks. Plus I've got a number of exciting titles in my "to read" pile. I've already dipped into The Pattern Seekers, Dictators and A Little History of Poetry but I'm saving Half a Yellow Sun until I know I've got the time and energy to give it the attention it deserves. How about you? Do you like to have lots of different books on the go? Do you go through reading droughts? What's the best thing you've read recently?
