A Bit About Me
I graduated from the University of York with a BA in History in 2000, and completed my PGCE in 2004. After a dozen years in classrooms, including roles as Head of Year and Head of Department, I moved into private tuition and also work as an examiner in the summer.
Since then I have worked with a range of students aged from 11 upwards (including a number of adult learners), teaching both English and History right up to A Level using all of the major English exam boards (and some international ones too!)

Lessons are focused on supporting students to develop their independence and teaching them how to communicate their ideas and analysis effectively. We use a range of resources and often allow lessons to flow naturally to whatever the student needs or wants to learn about.

I have worked with students from a broad variety of backgrounds and abilities and with a number of students who have additional needs such as dyslexia or autism. My focus is always on progress: it doesn’t matter where you start, it only matters that you move forward.

I live in Wiltshire with my family and dog.
