Course Outline

Starting in September 2025, this six week course is designed to support students who are keen to read widely and learn more than just the content of the school curriculum. Each week students will read both independently and as a group and discuss the themes of the book and the historical context in which it was written. You will be provided with a work booklet and a copy of the text as well as weekly seminars which will teach about the life of Mary Shelley, the Romantic movement, and the revolutionary air of the early nineteenth century.

Requirements: students must be between 13-17 years old and speak fluent English. The course is open to both home-educated and school-educated students from any where around the world. Students will be expected to complete written work and reading between each session in order to achieve the completion certificate.

Dates: starting from the week commencing 8th September 2025.

Times (UK): Wednesdays (mornings or evenings), Saturdays (midday).
​
Cost: £200 per student.
What's Included: bespoke workbook, copy of Frankenstein, six hour long online lessons (plus half an hour optional discussion and feedback time), three extended writing tasks which will receive detailed feedback, a certificate of completion and course report.
